Couponing Tips – Etiquette and honest couponing

We have discussed where to get your coupons, now let’s talk a little coupon etiquette and proper use. Here are some couponing tips for you to remember.  We need to make sure we are using coupons properly, with integrity. Good CWI ambassadors never make copies of coupons. Internet coupons are coded with a unique code and around the perimeter is identifying information about the ISP address from where the coupon was printed. So, please don’t.

You may be tempted to use a coupon for an item you did not purchase, or for a lesser quantity. You may have even seen this on television. Do not do this. It is wrong, could get you in trouble, and the stores will not be able to redeem it. Lose/lose for everyone.

Some stores may have told you that you have to purchase the item on the coupon, the picture. This is not true, but you do have to follow the wording. Another couponing tip:  Make sure you are purchasing the proper size, type etc.

Coupons have an expiration date. Make sure you are using your coupons within this date. Do not try to alter or deface the coupon, so the date is cut off or otherwise hidden.

Peelies and blinkies are a hot topic. I will leave this to your moral compass. For me, personally, I will take as many blinkies as I think our family can use, and have been known to pull a few peelies from products for my next shopping trip, taking care not to damage the product.

Many stores offer coupon booklets, be kind, leave some for others.

Everyone has their own thoughts on clearing shelves. I will leave that to you to decide.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you have any coupon tips to share?

I Googled “Moral Couponing Compass” and landed here. I’ve been here before. 😉
