JanSport lives up to their warranty promise!

I tested JanSport’s “guaranteed for life” warranty. Read more to see if they live up to their promise:

Guaranteed For Life

We all know JanSport is a nice brand. A little higher priced than most, but sometimes you get what you pay for right?  JanSport boasts on their website the following guarantee:

if your pack ever breaks down, simply return it to our warranty center. We’ll fix it or if we can’t we’ll replace it or refund it. We stand by our packs for a lifetime and since we’ve been making packs since 1967, that’s a guarantee you can stand by.

We had 2 backpacks that I decided to send in to see if JanSport lived up to their promise. One bag had a broken zipper, and the other had some bleeding issues in the colors.

You do pay for shipping, which was about $5 and they pay to ship it back to you. We received a notification that said the following:

Thanks for being part of our history. You may not know it, but that pack you sent back for inspection recently is now part of a rich history that started way back in 1967, when our first pack hit the trail. We build our packs to last. So when one doesn’t, we want to learn what went wrong. And make it better. For you and all the other people who love the outdoors as much as you do. Your pack should be home soon, better than ever

We didn’t hear anything else for a little while, but I figured they would repair the zipper on one, and I was not sure what would happen with the other one.

Imagine our surprise, a couple weeks later, we received a package from Jan Sport, opened it, and there were 2 bright BRAND NEW bags!! We were more than pleased that JanSport stood behind their promise, and since they couldn’t fix them, replaced them with a new bag!

If you have a JanSport bag that needs repair, but were hesitant to send it in, here is the warranty form. JanSport is true to their word, send it in!
