Publix coupon matchups – now offered on Publix website!

Publix coupon matchups - now offered on Publix website!

Publix coupon matchups are now offered at Publix.com!  It appears Publix is now cutting out the middleman!

Wow! I am really impressed with Publix! It appears they are taking notice of couponers and the value of embracing coupon use in their stores! First, they came out with digital coupons, and now it appears as if they are cutting out the middleman by offering coupon matchups directly from their site!

This new service; called savings helper, lists coupons from Smart Source and Redplum that matchup with the weekly ad. They also have a tab for other coupons that are available to print. What I especially like about this new feature is the total savings box, next to each coupon, where it lists the price, the percentage of savings and what you can expect to pay.

You can go to any blog and usually find coupon matchups, or coupons available to print. This serves as a value to our readers, and it’s no secret that as bloggers we receive a small incentive from it. (We are talking pennies, folks) 😉 It is time consuming to say the least, and many blogs, such as mine are fortunate to work with someone that will allow them to use their coupon matchups.

I personally think it is a good thing that Publix is jumping on the coupon matchup bandwagon. It shows that Publix recognizes the importance of coupon use, and instead of trying to ignore it and hope it will go away, they are accepting that in today’s economy, coupon use has become necessary. I am sure the fact that they realized they can make a little money doesn’t hurt either. 😉

I hope Publix continues to find ways to embrace the coupon community, and as couponers we continue to show Publix we appreciate their efforts by using our coupons with integrity.

I hope they do use this information as just another way to embrace the couponer community and keep us coming back. The skeptic in me wants to think that they’ll use this new information to strategically route what would be awesome coupon deals around the high-value coupons we get.

This shows me they’re not just trying to draw the couponer, but they have a running knowledge of what coupons are out there and how they’re being used.

If I were in their shoes, with this knowledge, I might be tempted to hold off on great sales on those particular items. *crossing fingers* that their intention is to help folks get out as cheap as we’ve already been doing ^^

Good points, and it makes me wonder why certain things happen during a great “deal”, such as the whole pegboard going missing during the Quaker Frenzy, or all the Motrin IB trial size disappearing until a day after the coupon expires. Coincidence?
