Would you buy expired food to save money?

Doug Rauch is hoping to bring healthy food to every table by opening a restaurant/store that sells items that are considered past expiration date and unsellable by other retailers. The items may also be damaged product, dented cans etc.

The former president of Trader Joe’s says he hopes to sell healthy food, fruits and vegetables at affordable prices, the same as fast food. (Has he bought fast food lately? πŸ˜‰ ) Β The Daily Table is to open in Dorchester Massachusetts, selling food and meals utilizing expired food.

Would you eat there or shop there? As a couponer, I am torn on whether I would do this, as so many of us utilize couponing strategies to buy our meats and vegetables. Now, maybe if they have damaged boxes of cupcakes, I’m in! πŸ™‚

I would not buy expired food. I’m afraid of the health consequences.

Well, we all are looking to buy healthy food and we do not like to buy expired foods from local shops. I think it is not healthy to buy expired foods.

I will not buy expired foods ever. It is dangerous to your health and you will have an upset stomach right after you eat them.
